Who paid for the centre?

Cochin Shipyard Limited sanctioned ₹40,00,000 under its CSR programme, of which ₹34,00,000 was released — ₹20 Lakh in January 2025 and ₹14 Lakh in August 2025. BSS met the ₹6 Lakh balance from its own resources rather than reduce the specification. The grant funded the building; it does not fund the centre's running costs.

How many people will the centre serve?

It is expected to serve at least 1,000 families a year from Hathikhera and the surrounding villages. That is a projection for the catchment the centre was built to cover, not a count of people served — it opened in January 2026.

About Aarogyam Kendra

Aarogyam Kendra is a community-based healthcare centre dedicated to serving women, adolescents, and children in underserved areas of Ajmer district. Built with CSR funding from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) through a grant of ₹40 Lakh, the centre was inaugurated on Republic Day (26 January 2026).

The building runs to 1,517 sq. ft. — a hall for yoga, naturopathy sessions, health camps and awareness activities, a counselling room, a doctor's consultation room, a staff room and store. It is expected to serve at least 1,000 families a year from Hathikhera and the surrounding villages, where reaching a health facility has meant travelling for it.
