Who paid for the centre?

Cochin Shipyard Limited, under its CSR programme: a grant of ₹40,00,000, received in full: ₹20 Lakh in January 2025, ₹14 Lakh in August 2025 and the remaining ₹6 Lakh, as BSS's audited balance sheet as at 31 March 2026 shows. The grant funded the building; it does not fund the centre's running costs.

How many people will the centre serve?

It is expected to serve at least 1,000 families a year from Hathikhera and the surrounding villages. That is a projection for the catchment the centre was built to cover, not a count of people served. It opened in January 2026.

About Aarogyam Kendra

Aarogyam Kendra is a community-based healthcare centre dedicated to serving women, adolescents, and children in underserved areas of Ajmer district. Built with CSR funding from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) through a grant of ₹40 Lakh, the centre was inaugurated on Republic Day (26 January 2026).

The building runs to 1,517 sq. ft., with a hall for yoga, naturopathy sessions, health camps and awareness activities, a counselling room, a doctor's consultation room, a staff room and store. It is expected to serve at least 1,000 families a year from Hathikhera and the surrounding villages, where reaching a health facility has meant travelling for it.

Why This Matters

In rural Rajasthan, women and children often travel long distances to access basic healthcare. Aarogyam Kendra was built so that care can be close to home for the families of Hathikhera and the villages around it.
