On 13 and 14 May 2026, Bal Sansar Sanstha conducted the Aarogyam Swasthya Shivir at Bal Sansar Public School, Village Hathikhera, Ajmer district. The camp was organised under BSS's Aarogyam Kendra programme, which focuses on preventive health and wellness for school-age children.
The camp ran across two full school days. Doctors set up consultation stations inside the school premises, and students came in group by group for individual health screenings. Two doctors were present throughout, with supporting staff maintaining written records for each student.
What the Camp Covered
The Aarogyam Swasthya Shivir was structured around several components.
**Health screening** — Each student went through an individual consultation. Height was measured using a tape measure; weight and blood pressure were also recorded. Doctors spoke briefly with each student and noted any concerns. This kind of systematic health record for a rural school population is not common — for most students in the area, this would be the only health check they receive in the year.

**Nutrition and lifestyle** — Group sessions were held on balanced diet, daily routine, hygiene, and sleep. The content was practical and referenced locally available foods rather than ideals out of reach for most families attending the school.
**Yoga and movement** — Yoga, breathing exercises, folk dance, Zumba-style aerobics, and structured outdoor sports were part of the programme. These were presented as normal parts of daily life, not as specialist activities requiring equipment.
**Lifestyle counselling** — Students and staff were able to ask questions during and after the group sessions. Several did.
Teachers and school staff who were present during the camp also participated in the health screenings.
