Giving from outside India
Bal Sansar Sanstha holds FCRA registration 125560132, so people living abroad, NRIs and overseas organisations can give to our work legally. This page says plainly how, and what we cannot promise.
What FCRA registration means
FCRA is the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, the Indian law that decides whether an organisation may accept money from outside India. The Ministry of Home Affairs grants the registration and it has to be renewed. Foreign funds are received into one designated bank account and reported every year. BSS's registration was renewed through 31 March 2028, and its foreign contributions are audited and reported separately. Most Indian charities do not hold it. The glossary explains the other terms.
How to give
Use the form on the Donate page. It works in Indian rupees (₹) and lists card, UPI and net banking. We cannot promise in advance that a particular card or bank outside India will be accepted: the payment window shows what is available to you. If it does not accept your payment, email [email protected] before trying again, and we will help with a gift from abroad.
We publish no bank account details on this site, and you should not send money to any account someone gives you in our name. Use the form, or write to us first.
What the receipt contains
A receipt is emailed after every donation. It shows the amount in rupees, the date and time, the Indian financial year, your payment ID, your name, your PAN if you gave one, and BSS's 80G registration number. A PAN is optional, so if you have no Indian PAN leave the box empty.
Check us before you give
The FCRA renewal certificate, the FCRA annual returns and the audited accounts are published on the Documents page. Nothing there needs a request or a login. How the audit works is explained in How we are audited.
Tax in your own country
BSS cannot give tax advice for any country other than India, and we do not say that a gift to us earns tax relief anywhere else. Please ask a tax adviser where you live what you can do with the receipt and the certificates.
