On 22 September 2026, the TI-IDU project of Bal Sansar Sanstha in Ajmer held a health camp at Shisha Khan, Ajmer. The banner on a van at the camp records that it was organised with the support and guidance of the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit.
What the camp looked like
It was not a hall with a queue. The camp was set up on the street: medicine strips, cotton and dressings were laid out on the seat of a scooter, one person in gloves saw the people who came, and another kept a register.
Taking the service to where people are, rather than waiting for them to reach a clinic, is the point of outreach work like this.
About the TI-IDU project
Our Targeted Intervention for injecting drug users in Ajmer district is sanctioned to reach 500 high-risk individuals, and has exceeded that: it reached 556 people in FY 2025-26, according to our FY 2025-26 annual report. Sanctioned coverage and people reached are two different figures, and we always label which. NACO evaluated the project and graded it Good, and NACO and the Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society designate it a Learning Site.
