Dr. Priyamvada Singh is a committed social development professional with a deep commitment to addressing social inequalities particularly, concerning children, youth, and women. She has a background in social sciences, for over three decades, she has been passionately involved in developing and implementing innovative, evidence-based, community-centric social development programme responses, engaging the neediest, rural, and marginalized populations.
Dr. Singh’s experience ranges across education, health (focusing on Reproductive Maternal Neonatal & Child Health and Adolescents-RMNCH+A, nutrition, HIV-AIDS, and family welfare), gender, and women empowerment. She has impactfully worked with the International Development Aid Agencies (CIFF, SIDA, CIDA, DFID, CARE International, and the UN agencies), prestigious Non-profits, community-based organizations /structures, and the government systems, and has earned high credibility in the political and bureaucratic spheres.
Dr Singh’s career journey commenced in 1986, with Marie Stopes Clinic & Obstetric Project run by Parivar Seva Sansatha, supporting/ promoting women’s reproductive health rights, while ensuring their access to safe and quality abortion, Family Planning (FP), and obstetric services.
Currently, she is working as a freelance consultant, and the Chief Functionary of a nonprofit ‘Bal Sansar Sanstha’, www.balsansarindia.com promoting and advocating awareness, rights, and entitlements among women, children, youth, and vulnerable communities. Her most recent full-time job as State Head-Rajasthan, was with the Population Foundation of India, where she successfully inked technical support MoUs with three key departments i.e., Medical & Health, Education, and the Directorate of Women Empowerment, Govt. of Rajasthan.
She worked with prestigious social development organizations and corporates, including the IPE Global, as Adviser Policy and Outreach for Udaan & RajPusht Interventions, the joint initiatives of Govt. of Rajasthan and Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) UK. Prior to IPE, she served as India’s core team member of ‘Center for Global Public Health (CGPH), University of Manitoba (UM), Canada’, CARE-India, and Lok Jumbish (Education For All movement), leading their prestigious public health and elementary education programmes in Rajasthan. All these projects have been pioneering, marked an impact & influenced the broader policy frameworks and programme guidelines at the state & national levels.
Dr Singh is a registered Advocate with the Rajasthan High Court; and served pro-bono on the non-profit boards at KHPT (Karnataka Health Promotion Trust), IHAT (India Health Action Trust) and Bal Sansar Sanstha, promoting and advocating the awareness, rights, and entitlements among women, children, youth, and vulnerable communities.
