KISHORE SAMVAAD

Kishor Samvaad | Ensuring Health, Wellbeing, Life-Skills and Empowerment

in partnership with Trent Pvt. Ltd. (From Jan. 2021 to March 2022)

The project aimed to spread the ARSH awareness in ten selected schools of the Jaipur district, while reaching -out to about 2000 adolescents both, boys, and girls (Age 10 to 19 years), and orienting them in adolescent health and Life-Skills, in selected schools.

The essential knowledge and awareness of basic health issues is very important for all the students in their adolescence phase. These early investments in the lives of adolescents will pay life-long dividends in the form of good health, well-being, and better life skills to deal with the issues, these adolescents face in life.

This was done through conducting one-hour sessions in the selected school, per month, for six months, preferably on Saturdays, transacting structured content on the following key themes (30-minute presentation) and then an interactive question-answers session (30 minute).

The programme aimed to contributing towards achieving the objectives of the “Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK)” the National Adolescent Health Programme.

The following key six topics addressed which are also part of the RKSK:

  • Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH)
  • Nutrition (Anemia Prevention)
  • Mental Health
  • Injuries and Gender-based Violence
  • Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
  • Substance misuse
